Samarkand and Jurmala to sign cooperation agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Khokimyat of Samarkand city (Uzbekistan) and Duma of Jurmala (Latvia) will sign an agreement on cooperation within the official visit of the Latvian President Andris Berzins to Uzbkekistan.

Edgars Stobovs, manager of department on city development of Jurmala in interview to Jahon news agency said that negotiations on cooperation between two cities started in 2006. The signing of the agreement will serve for further development of bilateral ties.

He said that the sides will also continue dialogue on cooperation in economy, education, healthcare and culture.

Edgars Stobovs noted that two cities have rich historic and cultural heritage and this will help to develop relations between countries and people. He said that there are huge plans. He noted that the sides have great potential and the sides should use it to deepen and develop cooperation.
