Samarkand and France Discuss Strategic Partnership and Experience Exchange

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the administration of Samarkand region between the regional governor, Adiz Boboev, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, Walid Fouque.

Both sides noted the positive dynamics of Uzbekistan–France cooperation, which strengthened following the historic visit of the French President to Uzbekistan. Special attention was given to implementing previously agreed arrangements and translating the strategic partnership into concrete practical steps.

The discussion covered prospects for expanding collaboration in key sectors. Particular focus was placed on education, including opportunities for joint programs and experience exchange. Urban infrastructure development was also discussed, including the creation and modernization of tram lines.

Agriculture was highlighted as a promising area of cooperation. The parties considered introducing advanced French technologies into the region’s agricultural sector and expanding exports of Uzbek agricultural products to the European market.

Restoration of historical and cultural heritage was another key topic. The French Ambassador expressed readiness to assist in preserving and restoring the region’s unique architectural monuments.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence in the continued productive development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Samarkand region and France.
