Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 February, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral and international issues.

The meeting featured a detailed and substantive exchange of views, covering not only current areas of Uzbek-American cooperation but also the most pressing issues on the global agenda. Particular attention was given to matters of international security and joint approaches to responding to contemporary challenges.

During the talks, the role of the recently established Peace Council was emphasized. According to both sides, the Council has already proven itself as an effective platform for promoting stability and economic development in conflict-affected regions. Its work was noted as creating new opportunities and giving hope to millions of people for a safer and more dignified future.

Bakhtiyor Saidov and Marco Rubio also reaffirmed their shared commitment to continuing constructive cooperation aimed at addressing common challenges, strengthening international security, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

In Tashkent, it is emphasized that dialogue with the United States remains a key element of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy amid a complex global environment.
