Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, visited the correspondent office of the New Century TV and Radio Company (TNV) today in Tashkent.
The presentation of the office was conducted for Rustam Minnikhanov by the Director General of the New Century television and radio company Ilshat Aminov and special correspondent Dinara Khabibullina.
Special correspondent Dinara Khabibullina graduated from the Kazan (Volga) Federal University in 2019 and headed the TNV bureau in Uzbekistan. The editor-in-chief Mirzokir Mirsagatov also works here. Both new employees are citizens of Uzbekistan. TNV Corp. will provide the TV channel with news stories and videos about the cultural life of the Tatars of Uzbekistan.
The decision to open the TNV bureau was made during a meeting of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan with the local asset of Tatar public associations in Tashkent in September 2017. Currently, approximately 300 thousand Tatars live in Uzbekistan, which makes up about 1% of the country's total population. The largest diasporas of the Tatars of Uzbekistan live in Tashkent, Samarkand and other areas. Among the Tatar diaspora, the TNV-Planet satellite TV channel is very popular. Due to linguistic affinity, there is a certain interest in the TV channel among the Uzbek population.
The TNV office in Uzbekistan became the thirteenth among the regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries, where large Tatars are living.
Today, during a visit to the TNV office in Tashkent, Rustam Minnikhanov inquired about the working conditions of the employees, the logistics of the office, and also gave a short interview. Rustam Minnikhanov wished the new TNV office success in the work, and most importantly - more good and positive news stories.
