Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 December, a board of the Russian airline Smartavia landed at the Ferghana international airport, which made its first regular flight from Moscow (Domodedovo airport). By tradition, the plane was solemnly greeted with a water arch.
Regular flights on the route Moscow - Ferghana - Moscow will be operated every Saturday on Boeing-737-800 and A-321 aircraft.
Smartavia is a Russian airline based in Moscow, Arkhangelsk, St. Petersburg. Until April 2020, it operated flights under the Nordavia brand.
From 23 March 2011 to 15 April 2016, it belonged to MMC Norilsk Nickel. On 15 April 2016, PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel completed the sale of 100% of shares in Nordavia - Regional Airlines to Sky Invest JSC. The airline operates regular and charter flights under the Smartavia trademark (since March 2019) and 5N codes to more than 60 Russian and foreign airports.
