Russian President arrives in Uzbekistan

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov welcomed his Russian counterpart at Tashkent International Airport, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

After short talk, the Russian delegation left for Kuksaroy residence, which was allocated to the Russian guests.

During the meetings and talks due in Tashkent, Islam Karimov and Vladimir Putin are expected to discuss the current state and prospects of the Uzbek-Russian relations and exchange views on pressing regional and international issues.

A number of documents dedicated to the enhancement of bilateral cooperation across various spheres are anticipated to be signed during the visit.
