Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov received Deputy Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia Ilyas Umakhanov.

During the meeting, the speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan informed the guests about the ongoing large-scale reforms in the country.

In particular, it was noted that in accordance with the Strategy of Action on the five priority development directions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, the most important state and territorial programs are currently being implemented aimed at accelerating socioeconomic and socio-political development of the country.

In addition, it was informed that representatives of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan have repeatedly visited the Russian Federation to participate in various international seminars, scientific forums and consultative meetings. It was informed about innovations in the legislative system.

In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia Mr Umakhanov stressed the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and maintaining a permanent political dialogue, which are designed to create a reliable basis for the development of bilateral cooperation in all other areas.

At the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of further development and expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

A meeting of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldoshev with the delegation of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The sides discussed the state and prospects of further deepening bilateral inter-parliamentary relations, as well as trade, economic and investment cooperation.

It was noted that the visit of the parliamentary delegation of the Russian Federation is timed to the next meeting of the Commission on cooperation of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

On the same day, a meeting of the Commission on cooperation of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was held at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by members of the parliamentary delegation of the Russian Federation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly I.Umakhanov.

At the meeting of the Commission, a number of key issues related to further development and deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation were considered through the exchange of visits at various levels, conduction of joint events, and the exchange of information on legislative and other normative acts that are being adopted.

Issues of holding a “Forum of regions” in the first half of 2018 in Tashkent, aimed at further development of trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed.

Following the event, a decision was taken on conduction of the next 3rd meeting of the Commission in Moscow.
