Russian Agribusiness Exports to Uzbekistan Rise 15% in First Ten Months of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first ten months of 2025, Russian exports of agricultural and agro-industrial products to Uzbekistan grew by 15% compared to the same period last year, reaching 938 million dollars.

As of the current year, Uzbekistan ranks among the ten largest buyers of Russian agricultural products, according to the press service of the federal center “Agroexport,” reported to Izvestia on November 10.

Uzbekistan continues to import a wide range of Russian agri-products. Leading exports this year include sugar and raw sugar, which reached 188 million dollars in January–October, a 37% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Chocolate confectionery products ranked second, with shipments to the Central Asian republic rising by 10% year-on-year to 82 million dollars.

Rounding out the top three are soybean meal and cake, with exports totaling 61 million dollars, 25% higher than last year.

Additionally, Russia significantly increased exports of bakery and flour confectionery products by 20%, sweet carbonated drinks by 21%, mayonnaise and sauces by 25%, margarine by 31%, cheeses and cottage cheese by 34%, frozen fish by 47%, and cat and dog food by 56%. Shipments of instant coffee doubled, poultry meat increased 2.7 times, and live animals twelvefold.

“Uzbekistan is a strategic partner of Russia in agriculture. From 2018 to 2024, deliveries of Russian food products to the Uzbek market increased 2.8 times, and there is potential for further export growth. According to our estimates, by 2030, agricultural exports to Uzbekistan could exceed 1.4 billion dollars,” noted Ilya Ilyushin, head of the federal center “Agroexport.”

According to Alexey Ulyanov, representative of Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture in Uzbekistan, bilateral cooperation in agriculture has been actively developing for many years, and trade between the countries continues to grow steadily.

In January–September 2025, trade increased by 20.5% compared to the same period in 2024. “Russia remains one of the key suppliers of agricultural products to Uzbekistan. In 2024, the share of Russian goods in the country’s agri-import structure exceeded 24% by value. Local consumers consistently note the high quality of Russian products and their wide assortment,” Ulyanov emphasized.

He also noted that Russian agri-exports to Uzbekistan are highly diversified, ranging from food industry ingredients to ready-made products on store shelves. Currently, there is potential to increase supplies of sugar, poultry meat, dairy and fish products, live cattle and small ruminants, as well as other in-demand goods.

The agroenterprise group “Resurs” has been collaborating with the federal center “Agroexport” on food exports since 2016. The company supplies broiler chicken meat and bottled sunflower oil, and last year conducted test shipments of wheat flour.

“In the first nine months of 2025, chicken meat exports exceeded total shipments for all of 2024 by 12%,” Resurs reported.

Company specialists view the Uzbek market as promising for further sales expansion and diversification of the export portfolio, including meat products and other categories of goods.
