Russia to supply 12 Mi-35 attack helicopters to Uzbekistan – reports
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan and Rosoboronexport signed a contract for the supply of twelve Mi-35 attack helicopters, the Russian agencies reported.

According to RIA Novosti, referring to the source, the party finished talks on supply of Mi-35 helicopters. “All the conditions have already been negotiated, a contract for 12 helicopters has been signed, and in 2018 supplies will begin,” the agency’s source said.

Long negotiations on the agreement and the terms of its implementation ended during a recent visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Uzbekistan, TASS reported.

The source could not name the schedule of deliveries, specifying that the Russian side signed the contract with Rosoboronexport following the visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Uzbekistan in early November.

Transport-fighting Mi-35M are designed for the destruction of armored vehicles and fire support for ground forces, as well as the transportation of personnel, the evacuation of wounded, the transport of goods and other tasks.

Helicopters are equipped with modern high-precision weapons and are capable of performing combat missions around the clock in various weather conditions.
