Russia and Uzbekistan strengthen Eurasian Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Harnessing the potential of bilateral relations between Russia and Uzbekistan can make a significant contribution to shaping a new system of international relations within the framework of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, said Mikhail Galuzin at a Russian-Uzbek conference organized by the Valdai Discussion Club in cooperation with the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies.

According to Galuzin, existing regional and subregional organizations already play a key role in promoting the initiative, focusing on integration and security. He specifically highlighted the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Union State of Russia and Belarus, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

He emphasized Moscow’s interest in continuing collaboration with Tashkent and other partners to advance the Greater Eurasian Partnership initiative. Galuzin noted that the potential of Russia-Uzbekistan relations and its practical implementation could play a significant role in shaping a new architecture of cooperation across Eurasia.

The statement was made at the opening of the conference “Russia – Uzbekistan: Strategic Partnership in Eurasia,” where participants discussed prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation.
