Russia and Uzbekistan Strengthen Cooperation at the UN, Says Ambassador
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Russian Federation and Uzbekistan continue to maintain constructive cooperation at the United Nations, supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening regional security, promoting sustainable development, and protecting human rights.
This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Erkhov on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter.
“Russia and Uzbekistan consistently advocate for the formation of a fair, sustainable, and multipolar world, where dialogue and respect for international law are paramount,” the diplomat noted, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts on the international stage.
Erkhov also reminded that as a founding member of the UN and a permanent member of the Security Council, Russia remains committed to the goals and principles of the UN Charter. “The principles of sovereign equality of states, non-intervention in internal affairs, and peaceful settlement of disputes remain relevant today,” the ambassador said.
He added that for 80 years the UN has served as a unique platform for finding collective solutions to global challenges.
“Russia consistently supports strengthening the central role of the UN in international affairs, ensuring balance of interests and equality among all states. I am confident that the spirit of the UN Charter will continue to serve the cause of peace, security, and progress—for the present and future generations,” Erkhov concluded.
