Russia and Uzbekistan increase trade in agricultural sector by 20% 2018
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the working visit to the Russian Federation, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Jamshid Khojaev met with the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev.
The parties noted with satisfaction the growing dynamics of cooperation between the countries. According to Dmitry Patrushev, in 2018 the trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by more than 20%. Separately, the role of the existing "Green Corridor" and other agreements contributing to an increase in the supply of agricultural products was highlighted.
In addition to measures aimed at increasing trade, both sides expressed willingness to exchange practices between relevant departments in such areas as plant breeding and fish, scientific and technological development, digitization of agriculture and others.
Following the meeting, the parties outlined plans to increase cooperation between the departments of Uzbekistan and Russia, in particular, within the framework of the Uzbek-Russian working group on agriculture.
