Ruslan Chagaev defends his WBA “regular” heavyweight title

WBA “regular” heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev (34-2-1, 21 KOs) of Uzbekistan defended his title on Saturday.
He made quick work of challenger Francesco Pianeta (31-2-1, 17 KOs) on Saturday night in Magdeburg, Germany.
Chagaev dropped Pianeta twice in round one before the mismatch was waved off
Ruslan Chagaev now must fight two consecutive mandatory challengers – Fres Oquendo within 120 days and then Lucas Browne.
