Ross: Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States has the character of a strategic partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States has the character of a strategic partnership. This was stated by the US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in an interview with UzA.

“Trade and economic relations between our countries are developing at a high rate. The agreements reached by the heads of states during the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May 2018 play an important role in this,” he said.

“I would like to note that President Donald Trump fully supports the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in all spheres. In particular, the United States is ready to assist in the process of your country’s accession to the World Trade Organization. Moreover, we plan to send a US Department of Commerce mission to Uzbekistan in 2019,” Ross said.

According to him, Uzbekistan has great opportunities not only for entrepreneurship, but also for the development of tourism. “I think our cooperation in these areas will be further strengthened,” he added.
