Rosatom to Host International Global Atomic Quiz
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 November, the state corporation Rosatom will hold the international Global Atomic Quiz in observance of World Science Day.
The project aims to promote knowledge about nuclear energy and the role of atomic technologies in modern society.
In 2024, the quiz will become even more accessible to participants worldwide: it will be held online in 16 languages and in person at venues in several countries, including Vietnam and Brazil.
The central event will take place in Moscow, where students from Russian universities will have the opportunity to test their knowledge of atomic science.
Participants will be required to answer 18 questions of varying difficulty within a 24-hour timeframe.
The quiz covers three main areas:
The history of atomic science,
Modern technologies,
The future of nuclear energy.
To participate, registration must be completed on the project’s website on November 10. Training tests are also available on the portal.
The results will be announced by November 22. One hundred winners will receive exclusive prizes, while the top three participants will be awarded a special prize — a trip to Russia. All participants will receive an electronic certificate.
The Global Atomic Quiz has been held annually since 2020 and attracts school students, university students, and young professionals from more than 100 countries. Over five years, more than 65,000 participants have taken part. In 2023, the project won the IX All-Russian Award “For Fidelity to Science” in the “Science to the World” category.
Rosatom’s educational initiatives aim to increase access to knowledge about modern technologies and to foster interest in engineering and scientific professions. As part of these efforts, a network of 25 Atomic Energy Information Centers in Russia and abroad welcomed over 280,000 visitors in 2023.
World Science Day for Peace and Development has been celebrated since 2001 at UNESCO’s initiative and highlights the contribution of the scientific community to sustainable development.
