Rosatom and Asaka Motors International to Explore Energy Storage Production in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 September 2025, during the World Atomic Week (WAW–2025) international forum, Rosatom’s Fuel Division and Uzbek company Asaka Motors International signed a cooperation agreement on the production of lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems.

The document was signed by Anastasia Mikhailova, Head of the Energy Storage business line at Rosatom’s Fuel Division, and Avazbek Jalilov, CEO of Asaka Motors International.

The partnership envisions the development of a project to localize modern production of traction batteries for electric vehicles and stationary energy storage systems in Uzbekistan. The companies plan to define the parameters of the future assembly line, prepare a localization program for components, identify potential customers, and assess export opportunities in Central Asia and beyond.

“The market of Uzbekistan and Central Asia shows strong interest in modern energy storage systems. We see Asaka Motors International as a reliable partner with a deep understanding of the regional specifics. This agreement is an important first step that will allow us to combine our expertise in preparing a major and significant project,” noted Anastasia Mikhailova.
