Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22–23 December 2025, “Romanian Film Days” will take place in Tashkent as part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and Uzbekistan.

The event is organized by the Embassy of Romania in Tashkent in collaboration with the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The official opening will be held on 22 December at 17:00 at the Alisher Navoi Cinema Palace (Panorama Cinema).

On the opening day, the film “Warboy” (2023) directed by Marian Crișan will be screened. The story follows a teenager, Niku, who embarks on a journey through the Romanian mountains in the fall of 1944, trying to save his family’s horses.

On 23 December at 17:00, the film “Horia” (2023) directed by Ana-Maria Comănescu will be shown at the Panorama Cinema. The adventure story tells of a boy traveling across Romania on his father’s old motorcycle, joined along the way by 13-year-old Stella, and their friendship gradually develops. Both films will be shown in Romanian with Uzbek subtitles, and admission is free.

The Romanian Film Days serve as the concluding event commemorating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which were established on October 6, 1995. Earlier celebrations included an exchange of congratulatory letters between foreign ministers, a lecture by the Romanian Ambassador at Tashkent State University of Economics, and a painting and installation exhibition titled “Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Romania” at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

Organizers note that Uzbekistan is a valued partner of Romania in Central Asia, with bilateral cooperation successfully developing in cultural and educational spheres.
