Rice Harvest 2025: 80.7% of Sown Area Collected Nationwide
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The rice harvest in Uzbekistan in 2025 is progressing actively. The total sown area reached 160.7 thousand hectares, with an overall collected yield of 820.4 thousand tons.
As of October 24, rice has been harvested from 129.7 thousand hectares, accounting for 80.7% of the sown area.
The highest yields are observed in Bukhara (53.7 c/ha) and Namangan (48.7 c/ha) regions, as well as in Khorezm (51.0 c/ha) and Syrdarya (46.9 c/ha) regions.
Since the beginning of the season, a total of 643.9 thousand tons of rice has been harvested across the country, reflecting the high skills of agricultural workers and the effective use of modern technologies.
This year, innovative methods have been introduced in rice cultivation, including drone-assisted seed sowing, energy-efficient irrigation systems, and biotechnological selection of high-yield varieties.
These technologies have helped reduce water consumption by an average of 12–15% while simultaneously increasing productivity.
Additionally, a plan has been developed to enhance production culture, ensure a stable domestic market, and expand the cultivation of export-oriented varieties.
Effective methods tested in Khorezm, Syrdarya, and Ferghana regions are planned to be implemented nationwide next year.
