Results of contest for best ecologic initiatives of the year announced in Tashkent

The contest was initiated by the Tashkent branch of the State Committee for protection of nature and Ekomaktab NGO.

The contest was conducted within the joint project of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan and Ecological-resource center Ekomaktab “Raising ecological awareness to strengthen inter-sectoral partnership in solving environment and ecologic issues” at the support of the State Committee for nature protection and Ecologic Movement of Uzbekistan.

The contest was directed at informing population on the best practices for solving ecologic problems, protection of environment, rational use of natural resources, participation of population in discussing ecologic problems and solving them.

The project “Energetic reconstruction of multistorey apartment houses as new direction of heating-energy saving and preserving of natural environment of Tashkent city” of Mansur Zahidov won the first place.

Saidkarimov Pazilov won in the nomination “Ecologic innovation” from Tashkent Tire Repairing Plant, which processes automobile tires and produces various goods.

General Motors Powertrain-Uzbekistan won in the nomination “Ecologic clean production”. The plant produces engines for automobiles and equipped with friendly and safe production lines for environment.

Three projects received certificates in the nomination “Ecologic campaign” – initiative “To make our city better” of Fatima Shakirova and Day of Saigak in Ustyurt village.
