Results and plans in the field of nuclear energy development discussed at the Uzatom Information Center
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 June 2019, a regular meeting was held at the Uzatom Nuclear Information Technology Center with the participation of members of the public on the reporting of completed work in the development of nuclear energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan and upcoming plans.
The meeting was attended by deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, representatives of political parties and non-governmental non-profit organizations, as well as a number of media.
The purpose of the event was to establish a system of work to popularize nuclear energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as to familiarize the mass audience with modern nuclear power technologies and their environmental safety.
During the event, all those present were shown the film “Atom Horizons”, giving a complete picture of the atom and atomic technologies. The overall picture was supplemented by a presentation presenting detailed information on legislation, personnel training and project tasks implemented in the field of nuclear energy development to date and plans for the future. At the same time, the participants were provided with detailed information about the project for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, in particular, the advantages of the VVER-1200 reactor belonging to the “3+” generation.
After a lively discussion, a tour of the Atomic Technology Information Center was organized. During the excursion through the model of a nuclear power plant to be built in Uzbekistan, information was presented about the principle of operation of the nuclear power plant under construction in Uzbekistan, as well as the use of atomic technologies in other industries, in particular, in medicine and agriculture.
On 7 July, in the territory where the construction of a nuclear power plant is planned - Farish district of Jizzakh region, a meeting is scheduled with the participation of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specialists of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, the Agency Uzatom and other relevant organizations dedicated to development of nuclear energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the construction of a nuclear power plant.
