Residents of Uzbekistan to witness “Supermoon” on the night of 8 October
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tonight, from 7 to 8 October, the Moon will reach its closest point to Earth while simultaneously entering the full moon phase — a rare astronomical phenomenon known as a “Supermoon.”
Due to its proximity to our planet, the Moon will appear noticeably larger and brighter than during an ordinary full moon.
Astronomers note that the Supermoon can be observed with the naked eye — under clear skies, it will be visible throughout the entire night. The best time for observation is just after moonrise and around midnight, when it rises higher above the horizon and shines with maximum brilliance.
Experts explain that such events occur several times a year, but each has its own unique characteristics depending on the Moon’s orbit and distance from Earth.
Thus, the night of 8 October will offer an excellent opportunity to witness one of the most spectacular sights of the autumn sky — the bright and majestic Supermoon.
