Residents of Tashkent city exceeds 2.48m people

As of 1 July, the resident population in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was 2,485,900 people and in January-June 2018 increased by 21,000 people or by 0.9%, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
For January-June of 2018, 21,000 children were born. The birth rate per 1000 population was 17.1 ppm and compared with the same period of 2017 increased by 0.6 ppm (in 2017 - 16.5 ppm).
The number of deaths in January-June of 2018 was 8,000 people, of them 300 children who died before the age of 1 year. The death rate was 6.5 ppm and compared to the same period of 2017 decreased by 0.3 ppm (in 2017 - 6.8 ppm).
The natural increase in the population of the capital was 13,000 people and compared to the same period of 2017 increased by 1.3 thousand. (in 2017, 11.7 thousand people).
The bodies of the registry office for January-June 2018 registered 7,700 marriages and 2,000 divorces.
The marriage rate for 1000 population was 6.2 ppm and compared to the same period of 2017 increased by 0.5 ppm (in 2017 - 5.7 ppm).
The divorce rate per 1000 population was 1.7 ppm and compared with the same period of 2017 increased by 0.2 ppm (in 2017, 1.5 ppm).
