Resident of Yashnabad Technopark wins the tender with financing of the European Commission

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A resident of the Yashnabad technopark City City LLC won the tender for the recycling of waste and bioenergy, held by the Dresden Technical University with funding from the European Commission.

The project cost is 5 million euros. The resident became a full partner and participant in the project along with the largest European research and production companies from countries such as Germany, Belgium, Sweden, France, Finland, Czech Republic, Austria. The goal of the project itself is to create a mobile installation on wheels for processing technical and agricultural waste in order to produce biofuels (gasoline, flammable liquids), industrial sugar, decomposing polyethylene.

The share of renewable energy is growing rapidly due to the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The amount of conventional renewable energy, such as solar photovoltaic and wind energy, which can be supplied to the end user, depends on the time of day and weather conditions. Dispatching renewable energy sources are necessary to compensate for these fluctuations and to maintain the balance of the power system and increase the flexibility of the power system. The industrial use of geothermal and hydropower is related to the geographical location where these renewable energy sources are available, but this location is not necessarily close to the end users in the industry.

Bioenergy carriers from biogenic residues / waste and energy crops are most suitable for this role and can assume the role of fossil fuels. When processing biomass, solar energy and heat can be used to increase the content of renewable energy in biofuels. SEIBEC partners have developed a medium-term and long-term technology roadmap covering future and existing thermal power plants.

In October 2019, a meeting with a delegation of the Dresden Technical University and the European Commission is planned in Uzbekistan. The duration of the project is 36 months and consists of the development, verification and evaluation of new systems.

The launch of the project is planned for the first half of 2020. The task of City Light LLC in this project is to organize test tests of equipment and technology on the territory of one of the plants of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as a demonstration of the project for international experts.
