Rescuers Save Construction Worker in Samarkand Trench Collapse

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Rescuers in Samarkand provided swift assistance to a construction worker who became trapped under a soil collapse at a building site.

According to the Emergency Situations Department of the Samarkand region, information was received by the duty station on April 8 at approximately 6:00 PM regarding an incident in the "Oltin Asr" neighborhood, where a person had been buried by earth at one of the construction objects.

Within minutes, personnel from the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation. Using specialized equipment, the victim was quickly extracted from beneath the debris.

First aid was administered on-site immediately following the extraction. The man was subsequently transported to a medical facility for further treatment. According to doctors, his condition is assessed as stable, and there is no threat to his life or health. The victim is expected to be discharged in the near future.
