Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 July 2020, a regular meeting of the Subcommittee on cooperation in the field of transport of the Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation was held via videoconference.
The Uzbek side was headed by Elyor Ganiev - Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Russian side - Alexander Neradko, First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
The topic of discussion was the preparation for the signing of a number of important documents between the transport departments of the two countries, namely: the Agreement between the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Civil Aviation Agency on cooperation in the field of airworthiness, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan on development cooperation in transport education.
The issues of creating a joint transport and forwarding enterprise for organizing the transportation of export products to Russia, using the ports "Nakhodka" and "Novorossiysk" for organizing storage and transportation of export cargo are considered. They discussed long-term plans to create a Russian-Uzbek low-cost air carrier after the lifting of quarantine measures associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
The parties agreed to continue work on the phased implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of digital transport systems, signed by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and RT-Invest Transport Systems.
In conclusion, the parties noted that the regular holding of meetings of the Subcommissions through videoconferencing makes it possible to promptly resolve emerging problematic issues and increase the practical significance and effectiveness of bilateral Uzbek-Russian contacts.
