Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries, in cooperation with the khokimiyat of Kashkadarya region, organized a video conference with representatives of business, scientific and public circles of the Benelux countries, Dunyo news agency reports.
About 60 participants from Uzbekistan and Europe joined the event online, among whom were representatives of khokimiyats of Kashkadarya, Navoi and Bukhara regions, about 30 companies of Uzbekistan and Benelux countries, compatriots living in European countries, the Netherlands branch of the Association of Independent Entrepreneurs of Turkey ( MUSIAD), as well as researchers from the leading agricultural university in the world - Wageningen University of the Netherlands.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Benelux countries Dilyor Khakimov spoke about the consistent measures taken in Uzbekistan to support the economy in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the assistance provided to domestic exporting companies in entering foreign markets, as well as the implementation of investment projects in the country.
The head of the diplomatic mission urged the participants to pay attention to measures of state support for business in a pandemic, which open up new opportunities for the development of mutual cooperation in many sectors of the economy and emphasized that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Benelux countries is ready to provide all possible assistance to both Uzbek and European entrepreneurs in establishing and strengthening long-term mutual contacts.
During the videoconference, presentations and speeches were made by representatives of the khokimiyat administration of Kashkadarya, Navoi and Bukhara regions, who told participants about the export and investment potential of the regions and measures to support entrepreneurship in a pandemic.
High interest was expressed in the further development of cooperation with companies, research and educational institutions of Benelux countries and the implementation of joint projects.
The participants were especially interested in the speeches of the professors of Wageningen University I. Novikova and F. Girling-Eif, who told the participants about research projects on the establishment of the Center of Excellence in Agriculture in Uzbekistan, cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan on the development of a “road map” on Implementation of the Agriculture Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030.
Representatives of the Association of Independent Entrepreneurs of Turkey (MUSIAD), as well as a number of companies involved in the implementation of projects in agriculture of Uzbekistan, informed about their experience in working with Uzbek partners and expressed their willingness to expand cooperation.
During the event, a number of participants reached an agreement on establishing contacts and implementing projects for the supply of various export products from Uzbekistan to the European market.
Participants in the video conference noted the usefulness of this platform in terms of networking, the rapid exchange of information and discussion of possible problems.
As a result of the event, an agreement was reached on holding such meetings on a regular basis.
