Representatives of the Ministry of Innovative Development takes part in the activities of the Asia-Pacific Technology Transfer Center in Malaysia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan through the Ministry of Innovative Development to the member countries of the Asia-Pacific Center for Technology Transfer (APCTT-ESCAP) will undoubtedly give impetus to development in the field of science, innovation and technology in Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the Innovation Ideas Week “Innoweek-2019”, the first joint “Regional seminar on innovation and technology transfer - the role of intellectual property” was successfully held. International speakers from countries such as India, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Sweden, and Kazakhstan, including three members of the APCTT Secretariat, were invited to participate in the event. This event was held as part of one of the priorities of APCTT - carrying out regional capacity building projects.

In turn, representatives of the Ministry of Innovation Development took part in the International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals, held on November 5, as well as at the 15th meeting of the Board of Directors Asia Pacific Technology Transfer Center on 6-7 November in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The International Conference was attended by over 130 representatives of ministries and departments, international organizations and the private sector from APCTT member countries involved in the field of science, technology and innovation. Conference participants made presentations on the development of innovation policy, transfer and commercialization of the Internet, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, renewable energy and other new technologies.

Representatives of the Ministry of Innovative Development presented information on the development of science, the work done in the field of introducing innovative technologies in Uzbekistan. In particular, they talked about the regulatory documents adopted in this area, including the Strategy for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the essence and significance of the recently adopted resolution "On Science and Scientific Activity".

The fifteenth meeting of the Governing Council of the Asia-Pacific Center for Technology Transfer was held by the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change of Malaysia (Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change).

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) favors positive developments in member states and contributes to the implementation of sustainable development plans. This organization successfully conducts practical work in areas such as cooperation in the application of space technologies, digital commerce, and information management of natural disasters. The following plans include reducing economic inequality and expanding opportunities between Member States. This means empowering women, creating conditions for the active life of older people, and increasing investment in social protection to overcome poverty. The issue of accelerating the transition to clean energy, mitigating damage from natural disasters, developing scientifically based measures to control the environment is also one of the organization’s priorities.

The participants of the event got acquainted with the potential and activities of the Technology Park of Malaysia - Mimos Berhad. Representatives of the Ministry of Innovation established new contacts with targeted structures and representatives.
