Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The management of the BMB Export Global agricultural wholesale company held talks with members of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of a videoconference organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo, Dunyo news agency reported.

The online event was attended by representatives of business circles, headed by Yahya Ahmad al-Sunni, chairman of the CCI fruit and vegetable trade sector.

The parties exchanged views on the current state of the fruit and vegetable market in the region of Central Asia and North Africa, measures to increase crop yields, the current agricultural prices and prospects for mutual cooperation in this direction.

The BMB Export Global expressed its readiness for deliveries to Egypt of fruits and vegetables not cultivated in the country, such as cherries, various types of grapes, plums, persimmons and apples.

The Uzbek side also confirmed the possibility of establishing supplies from Egypt of popular citrus fruits like orange, mandarin, mango and others.

Egyptian entrepreneurs were presented samples of freeze-dried vegetables and fruits, as well as other products of the company’s own production.

The Egyptian partners were very interested in establishing cooperation in the framework of the healthy nutrition program in children’s educational institutions.

Representatives of BMB Export Global suggested using both land transit corridors and aircraft to deliver high-quality dried fruits and fresh agricultural products to the final consumer in Egypt.

The negotiations also discussed the organization of the supply of agricultural products of Uzbekistan to Egypt and the possibilities for further re-export to Arab and African countries.
