Representative office of business association of Germany opens in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin on 20 July with the executive director of the Federal Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (BVMW) of Germany, Markus Yerger, and a member of the executive council of this association, senior consultant on foreign policy of the CDU / CSU in the German Bundestag by Andreas Jan.

It was noted that the BVMW includes more than 900 thousand member companies, it has over 300 representative offices in Germany and about 40 abroad.

The sides showed interest in further development of communication between representatives of the two countries of small and medium-sized businesses, highly appreciating the economic potential of Uzbekistan. They also confirmed their desire to provide all kinds of assistance in improving the export of Uzbek goods to European countries and attracting German investment in the formation of new enterprises in our country for the manufacture of goods with a high added price.

According to Markus Yerger, over the past three years, strong changes have taken place in Uzbekistan, large-scale market reforms have made the country attractive for German investors.

It was mentioned that the assessments of authoritative international institutions and publications, in particular, the IMF, the World Bank and the British magazine The Economist, also played a significant role in making this decision, which predict sustainable economic growth in Uzbekistan even in the context of the coronavirus crisis throughout the world.

Meanwhile, it was emphasized that the German companies interested in cooperation have the most advanced technologies and extensive experience in international markets.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties adopted a number of joint events, and also reached an agreement on organizing a visit of a delegation of German business circles led by the president of the association, Mario Ochofen, to Uzbekistan in the fall of 2020.
