Remittances between Uzbekistan and Russia fall by 56% in 2Q

The Central Bank of Russia said that the volume of remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan decreased by 57.92% year-on-year to US$686 million in the second quarter of 2015. The remittances from Uzbekistan to Russia reached US$98 million in the second quarter of 2015, which decreased by 37.58% year-on-year.

At the same time, the volume of remittances between Uzbekistan and Russia fell by 2.03 times year-on-year to US$1.398 billion in the first half of 2015.

In six months of 2015, the money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan made up US$1.149 billion, decreasing 2.21 times year-on-year. The volume money transfers from Uzbekistan to Russia fell by 15.31% - to US$249 million.
