Regulations Introduced for Prescribing Medications via E-Prescriptions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the “Regulations on Prescribing Medications in Medical Institutions through Electronic Prescriptions.”
Under the new rules, all medicines prescribed electronically must be officially registered in Uzbekistan.
Healthcare professionals will enter patient information into the medical information system installed at their institution, which will automatically transmit the data to the “Electronic Medical Card” module. Based on this data, an e-prescription is generated and digitally signed by the attending physician. Each prescription is assigned a unique QR code, and all details are automatically recorded in the “Electronic Prescription” module.
Doctors will also be able to track the movement of prescribed medications, including their sale in the retail network.
All prescription data will be stored in the patient’s electronic medical card, ensuring transparency and effective monitoring of prescription drug use.
