Registration of letters of power of attorney for cars at interior bodies abolished

On 11 July 2017, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to further improving the system of road safety”.

The resolution said that starting from 2018, the requirement for registration of powers of attorney for the right to use and (or) disposal, lease agreements, gratuitous use, pledge, leasing of vehicles by the citizens in relevant road safety units of the internal affairs agencies has been canceled.

At the same time, starting from 1 January 2018, notaries will provide information on the issued powers of attorney to the relevant road safety units of the internal affairs bodies in electronic form.
