Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Rector of Tashkent State University of Transport was appointed. 

According to a government resolution from 16 June, Odil Abdurakhmanov was appointed rector of Tashkent State Transport University.

Since April 2019, Abdurakhmanov served as Deputy Advisor to the President on the development of science, education, health and sports.

Prior to that, he worked as the First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan.

In May 2020, the President signed a resolution establishing the Tashkent State Transport University.

The new university was established on the basis of the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers, the Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Operation of Roads and the Department of Aerospace Technology of Tashkent State Technical University.
