Holy month of Ramadan will start in Uzbekistan on 10 July 2013, the press service of the Uzbekistan Muslims Board said.
According to calendar, published at the website of Uzbekistan Muslims Board, the Ramadan month will end on 8 August 2013.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims worldwide observe this as a month of fasting. This annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
Fasting is fardh (obligatory) for adult Muslims, except those who are ill, travelling, pregnant, diabetic or going through menstrual bleeding.
