Railway service launched from Vostochny port to Uzbekistan and back

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- After 11 months of active work, the railway service, launched in March 2018, from the port of Vostochny to Uzbekistan and back, successfully completed the test phase. Trains will go in both directions every 10 days with transit time on the way 11-12 days.

This service was made possible through collaboration and close partnership between the Russian office of InterRail Service, the company’s branch in Uzbekistan, Global Ports and VSK LLC. It includes the full range of transport and logistics services, starting with the provision of wagons, port forwarding and full support of goods in transit in both directions.

Increasingly, the demand for this rail link comes from Asian countries, such as South Korea, China, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia. Thanks to close cooperation with large shipping lines, this service can be offered for both export and import shipments for any type of container.

The goods imported to Uzbekistan by import are mainly equipment for the automotive industry, auto parts, household goods and chemical products. Cotton yarn and cotton pulp, fabrics, copper, cellulose and fertilizers are exported.

Thanks to long-term partnerships and mutually beneficial cooperation with a number of railway companies, InterRail successfully introduced other new services last year. Currently, the company focuses on transportation between China and Europe with the CIS, Russia and India, as well as on the entire Central Asian corridor, having its own branches in these regions.
