Qanot Sharq Applies to U.S. Department of Transportation for Direct Tashkent–New York Flights

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek airline Qanot Sharq has applied to the U.S. Department of Transportation for authorization to operate flights between Tashkent and New York, Aviation Week Network reports.

The carrier plans to operate the route twice a week. If approved, Qanot Sharq would become the first private airline from Uzbekistan to operate regular flights to the United States.

U.S. authorities are expected to grant permission for the flights in 2025 or 2026.
