Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed creating a kind of trilateral union of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Russian media.
Putin made the corresponding statement during a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, TASS writes.
The head of Kazakhstan said that he supported the proposal made by Russian President Vladimir Putin to create a trilateral union of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, including for resolving issues in the gas sector.
“Yes, there are issues that require additional coordination and even negotiations. In particular, we are talking about the gas sector. But here we do not dramatize any questions. I just told Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) that there are such issues, they require discussion, but absolutely without any dramatization. These are working issues,” Tokayev said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that "we will reach relevant agreements." “Moreover, today Vladimir Vladimirovich said that we need to create some kind of trilateral union, and he is going to call the President of Uzbekistan,” Tokayev said.
He added: "We also need to delve into this topic, in any case, I, not to mention our specialists, in order to come to the desired result and agreement." "Why not," concluded the President of Kazakhstan.
