Protocol between Uzbekistan and Belarus enters into force

On 30 July 2019, a protocol on amendments and additions to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on international road transport from 22 December 1994, entered into force.
The document was signed on 13 September 2018 in Tashkent.
According to the press service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the protocol was developed in order to make changes and additions to the agreement, envisaging the possibility of implementing on a parity basis the exchange of permit forms without paying road fees, in excess of parity - with the payment of road fees.
The Protocol contributes to the further deepening of cooperation in the field of transport and will open new prospects for the expansion of trade and economic relations between the two states. It will create conditions for increasing the participation of Uzbek carriers in the export-import transportation of goods to/from the European Union in transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of mutual benefit.
