Prospects of cooperation in the field of health discussed in Germany

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 24-28 October 2019, in Berlin, an Uzbek delegation led by the Minister of Health Alisher Shadmanov took part in the German-East European Health Symposium, organized by the Eastern Committee of the German Economy in conjunction with the German Health Alliance.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, the event was attended by representatives of leading European clinics and companies in the production of medical equipment and medical devices, pharmaceuticals, medical management and consulting, as well as prestigious medical universities.

During the special session of the symposium on the prospects for the development of the health care system of Uzbekistan, the participants were provided with detailed information about the work carried out in our country in the framework of the Concept of development of the health care system for 2019-2025.

The symposium participants were also very interested in information about plans for the widespread introduction of digitalization systems in the activities of medical institutions in Uzbekistan, including telemedicine, electronic medical records, online registries, online medical advisory platforms and others.

On the sidelines of the symposium, the Uzbek delegation held talks with representatives of a number of leading European companies interested in implementing joint projects in our country. In particular, the companies Fresenius, Charite, SANA Hospital Group, Siemens Healthineers, AME International showed great interest in cooperation.

With the German development bank KfW and the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ, they discussed the implementation of previously agreed joint projects on digitalization of medicine, improving the health care system in the Aral Sea region and organizing the activities of the medical educational center in Termez with the participation of Afghan students.

Also, agreements were signed with Vamed and Heinemann Medizintechnik on a project to create a multidisciplinary medical center in the Tashkent region and with Opasca GmbH on a project to build a modern cancer center.

The members of the Uzbek delegation also got acquainted with the activities of the modern medical clinics “Vivantes” and “Helios”, where they discussed issues of exchange of experience and cooperation in the preparation of highly professional medical personnel.

During their stay in Germany, the Uzbek delegation took part in the World Health Summit in Berlin held annually under the auspices of WHO.
