Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 2 June, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India organized negotiations between the leadership of the Bukhara State Medical Institute (BGMI) and the private university “LNCT University” in the form of a video conference.
LNCT University is a private university in India, founded in 2015. in Bhopal (state of Madhya Pradesh). About 15 thousand students are trained at this institution of higher education in the following specialties in demand in India: engineering, management, pharmaceuticals, medicine, Ayurveda (traditional medicine), agriculture and law.
Vice-Rector for International Relations of LNCT University S. Singh announced the interest and readiness of the Indian university to establish a joint medical college (faculty) on the basis of BSMI. She presented the concept of the implementation of this project.
Singh also noted that the leadership of the Indian University intends to visit Uzbekistan after lifting the quarantine restrictions to conduct appropriate negotiations and to get acquainted with the conditions for launching a joint project.
According to the rector of the Belarusian State Medical Institute, A. Khidoyatov, about 50 Indian students are currently studying at the higher educational institution and the opening of the Uzbek-Indian faculty is designed to promote both the introduction of advanced Indian educational technologies and the increase in the number of Indian students attracted to study at the university.
Given India’s vast experience in the field of traditional medicine, during the negotiations, special attention was paid to cooperation in this area.
On the same day, negotiations were held with the executive director of the Indian private clinic "Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital" (KDAH) S. Shetti. They were attended by representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, investment and foreign trade, health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the embassies of Uzbekistan in Delhi and India in Tashkent.
Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital is one of India’s largest multi-disciplinary private clinics with 750 beds. The clinic has been operating since 2009 and is owned by Reliance Group.
Shetti praised the ongoing reforms in the healthcare sector in Uzbekistan and emphasized the interest of KDAH in the implementation of the project to create a modern multidisciplinary clinic in our country. According to him, the company plans to implement the project in partnership with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and with private entities.
Representatives of the ministries of investment and foreign trade, as well as healthcare provided detailed information on the favorable conditions created in Uzbekistan for foreign investors, including in the healthcare sector.
The parties agreed in the near future to exchange information necessary for further elaboration of the implementation of the joint project, as well as to conduct regular negotiations in July this year.
