The document was signed on 14 June within the visit of the Uzbek delegation headed by Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov to Vienna (Austria). The delegation visited the office of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

Foreign experts are informed of the large-scale work being carried out in Uzbekistan on countering global challenges and threats, encroaching on human rights, public order and security.
In particular, comprehensive measures aimed at changing the course of the criminal and legal policy in the country from combating criminal consequences towards prevention and prevention of offenses, coordinating role of prosecutors in this process, were noted.
Participants discussed the practical implementation of the signed memorandum. It was underlined that the Memorandum will be evidence of the intentions of the parties to raise joint cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
Agreements have been reached to prepare a plan of concrete measures for further practical cooperation.
In this regard, working meetings were held with the Director of the Treaty Department (DTA) of the UNODC D. Brandolino, as well as the heads of the sections on justice, the prevention of terrorism, cybercrime and money laundering.
