Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 15 January, 2020, in Kuala Lumpur, the Director General of the Uzbekkino National Agency, the Chairman of the National Electronic Media Association (NAESMI) Firdavs Abdukhalikov met with the Deputy Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) ) Natalia Ilieva.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, the following agreements were reached:

- consideration of the possibility of inclusion of NAESMI in the composition of ABU members;

- participation of representatives of NAESMI in a symposium on digital broadcasting in March this year in Kuala Lumpur;

- organization of seminars and trainings on the creation of children’s programs, films and series for representatives of the mass media and the film industry of the republic in Uzbekistan;

- exchange of news content between members of NAESMI and ABU;

- development of a “Roadmap” for cooperation with emphasis on holding joint events within the calendar schedule of both parties.
