Promising areas of cooperation in the field of training were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 28 February 2020, Uzbek Ambassador to the United States Javlon Vahabov and US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum in Starkville met with the President of Mississippi State University (MSU) Mark Kinum, and also got acquainted with academic and research activities of the university.

Formed in 1878, the university consists of 8 institutes and 5 research centers. More than 22 thousand students from 83 countries study at MSU.

During the conversation, the MSU President informed that at present 4 university experts, together with the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan, are working on pilot projects in the educational sphere of the country. Among them: improving reading and mathematics skills in grades 1-6, developing a curriculum in IT-fields for grades 1-11, improving teaching English in grades 1-11. It is emphasized that this year MSU will organize training courses for teachers of schools in Uzbekistan in order to prepare them for work in the planned areas.

It was noted that MSU expects great prospects from the implementation of a double-degree education program with the Tashkent State Agrarian University and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers.

This program provides Uzbek students with the opportunity to receive both national and Western education using the latest methods and technologies in the field of agriculture.
