Projects for US$1bn in construction material sector to be realized in Tashkent region

The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On implementation of targeted Program for development of construction materials industry in Tashkent region for 2018-2020, as well as the reconstruction of the park of culture and recreation in the city of Bekabad”.

The government approved the targeted program for development of the construction materials industry in the Tashkent region until 2020. The total volume of foreign direct investment will exceed US$519 million.

In particular, the Russian company Eurocement Group will invest US$220 million in creation of cement production with “dry method” with a capacity of 2.4 million tonnes a year.

China’s Xin Lei will build a cement plant in Akhangaran district. The cost of the project is US$108 million and the plant’s capacity will be 1 million tonnes of cement per year.

Another cement plant will be built on the basis of Akhangaranshifer with a capacity of 1 million tonnes a year. The cost of the project is US$100 million.

The program includes project on creation of the capacities for production of modern wallpapers from various materials in the FEZ Parkent with the cost of US$8 million. The plant’s capacity will be up to 3 million rolls of wallpapers a year.
