Procedure for Compulsory Treatment of Drug Addicts in Narcological Centers Approved
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice has registered the Regulation on the Procedure for Organizing the Treatment Process in Narcological Institutions for Compulsory Treatment (registration number 3720, on 6 December 2025).
The document establishes the rules for providing compulsory medical care to individuals with substance use disorders based on a court decision.
The duration of compulsory treatment is determined by a medical commission, which includes the head of the institution and two narcologists, within five days of the patient’s admission.
The treatment period, however, cannot exceed 18 months.
Patients are discharged upon completion of the prescribed period, taking into account their clinical condition, or earlier if severe comorbidities are identified that prevent continuation of treatment.
