Prime Minister of Uzbekistan to visit Azerbaijan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov will visit Azerbaijan on 30 October 2017, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The head of the government will head the Uzbek delegation, which will take part in the opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is a new transport corridor, which will unite the railways of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
The peak capacity of the corridor will be 17 million tonnes of cargo per year. At the initial stage, this indicator will be at the level of 1 million passengers and 6.5 million tonnes of cargo.
The implementation of this project will consistently shorten the time of cargo transportation from China to Europe from 25-30 days to 12-15 days.
The opening ceremony will be attended by the Presidents of Turkey, Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of Georgia.
