Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Participates in the Meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov took part in a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Moscow.
The meeting brought together the Prime Ministers of Armenia (Nikol Pashinyan), Belarus (Alexander Turchin), Kazakhstan (Olzhas Bektenov), and Cuba (Manuel Marrero Cruz, via videoconference), the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan (Adylbek Kasymaliev), the Chairman of the Government of Russia (Mikhail Mishustin), as well as the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev.
During the session, held in both a restricted and extended format, participants discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, as well as collaboration in the energy, digital, and customs sectors. Delegation heads exchanged views on the results of joint work in 2025 and identified priority areas for integration and partnership in 2026. Key topics included cooperation in the oil and gas sector, improvements in customs control mechanisms, development of e-commerce, and product labeling systems.
In 2025, the EAEU countries adopted several documents aimed at strengthening integration and ensuring sustainable economic growth, including the signing of the “IV Grand” Protocol, which refines the foundational EAEU Treaty and the work of Union institutions, as well as international agreements with the UAE, Mongolia, and Indonesia to expand foreign economic relations.
Special attention was given to the digitalization of public procurement, recognized as an effective tool for increasing transparency and saving budgetary funds. The mechanism for financing industrial cooperation was identified as a key instrument for supporting joint business initiatives. In 2025, five projects were approved under the EAEU budget, including three in mechanical engineering and railway industry sectors with the participation of Kazakh businesses.
Delegates emphasized the need to provide priority subsidies to enterprises that implement modern digital solutions and artificial intelligence technologies, which will promote the development of high-tech manufacturing, the establishment of new enterprises, job creation, and economic growth across the Union.
The meeting also addressed measures to improve business conditions, eliminate excessive regulations, and ensure predictable governance.
Abdulla Aripov highlighted that over the past four years, Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with EAEU countries increased by 80%, the number of joint ventures reached 5,000, and as of ten months into 2025, mutual trade grew by 12% to reach $16 billion. The Prime Minister also noted Uzbekistan’s interest in joining the “EAEU Digital Technical Regulation” project.
Following the session, a number of documents were signed, including a decision to amend the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Resolution No. 101 of November 17, 2025, on the introduction of anti-dumping duties on graphite electrodes from China, as well as an order setting the date and venue for the next Council meeting.
