Prime Minister of Belarus Visits Leading Industrial Enterprises in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of his official visit to Uzbekistan, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin toured the country’s leading enterprises, visiting Samarkand and the capital, Tashkent.
In Samarkand, the Prime Minister visited the Samarkand Automobile Plant (SamAuto), which for the past 25 years has been a key player in developing Uzbekistan’s transportation infrastructure. Established on March 16, 1999, the plant has earned a reputation as one of the industry’s flagships, supplying reliable and durable vehicles for both passenger and cargo transport. Its products support the development of urban and rural infrastructure throughout the country.
Over its operational history, SamAuto has produced more than 40,000 vehicles, with production capacity enabling up to 5,000 buses of various models annually. The plant employs 1,500 staff, and over a thousand spare parts and accessories are available for uninterrupted vehicle maintenance. The company’s network includes 23 official dealers and service centers nationwide.
Next, Alexander Turchin visited the production facilities of the SAG Group (Sam Antep Gilam), Central Asia’s largest holding in carpet and textile manufacturing. The plant can produce over 12 million square meters of flooring annually, offering a wide range of products with varying densities. SAG’s products are successfully represented in the Belarusian market through marketplaces and retail networks, reflecting the growing bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
After the visit to Samarkand, the Prime Minister traveled to Tashkent, where he reviewed a presentation on the production capacities of the Servolux Group. In Uzbekistan, the company is implementing a major investment project to establish an agro-industrial complex specializing in poultry meat and feed production. The total investment in the project amounts to approximately US$170 million.
During the first phase of the project (2026–2027), production is planned at 75,000 tons of poultry meat per year. The development of feed production is expected to reach a target capacity of over 200,000 tons by the end of 2028.
Additionally, by 2028, a processing facility for deep processing of poultry meat will be established, producing up to 1,200 tons of finished products monthly. The project will significantly reduce Uzbekistan’s dependence on poultry imports, expand the range of safe, high-quality products in modern packaging, and create approximately 2,000 new jobs.
