Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on the creation of a special republican commission to prepare a program of measures to prevent the importation and spread of a new type of coronavirus in Uzbekistan. The commission was headed by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
A special republican commission was created under the leadership of Abdulla Aripov. The commission’s tasks include continuous analysis and monitoring of the global, regional and country epidemiological conditions, forecasting the trends in the spread and possible worsening of the epidemiological situation of coronavirus in the country.
According to the program, specialized healthcare institutions and the population will be provided with the necessary diagnostic tools, antiviral drugs and personal protective equipment in the required volumes.
The Ministry of Finance was instructed to allocate funds from the state budget for equipping sanitary and quarantine points at the border crossing points with stationary and portable thermal imagers, as well as acquiring diagnostic tools to determine a new type of coronavirus.
In addition, in all regions and the capital, it was entrusted to ensure the creation of the necessary reserve of coronavirus diagnostic tools, equipping resuscitation and intensive care units of specialized hospitals for the treatment of patients with severe forms of acute respiratory infections with necessary medicines and disinfectants, equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment.
The relevant departments should submit proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers on 1 March on the creation and development of domestic production of effective antiviral drugs and personal protective equipment against coronavirus and other infectious diseases.
