Prices for cotton picking set in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government adopted a resolution “On measures for the organized conduct of harvesting of raw cotton in the crop of 2019”.

According to the resolution, payment is made in the following amounts:

- for 1 tonnes of raw cotton collected by the machine - 600,000 soums;

- for 1 kg of raw cotton, manually collected during the first harvest - 800 soums, during the second harvest - 1200 soums;

- to the leaders of the picker squad for 2 million soums each, to the leaders of the collector centers for 3 million soums each month for the season.

In addition, banks will provide loans at a rate of 16 percent per annum for cotton picking to cotton-textile manufacturing organizations and clusters.

Also, according to the resolution, for collecting crops in a short time, timely settlement with pickers, the Fund for State Support for Agriculture is allocated an interest-free loan subject to repayment in 2020.
